I drove around by myself tonight for about an hour, just to get out of town. It's amazing how much a pavement can do for you. Familiar songs. Familiar roads. The lack of attention to the road because you know it so well, leads to your mind going off in a million different directions.
Night driving. Deserves a quiet night. (That was an R.E.M. song reference. Comment if you recognize it. Also, give yourself a virtual high-five from me for getting it.)
These summer nights should be spent in another way. I shouldn't be exhausted from work each night, but should be instead, going swimming. Or star-watching. Something simple and yet, grandly perfect.
