Back from another shift at work. It was mediocre to say the least. I run items across the scanner, I bag the items, I hit the total button, and wait for money to be thrown at me. Most shoppers choose to drop the money on the counter. It has always seemed, in my mind, that my extended palm is asking for the money. My hand isn't a claw ready to grab what you've dropped for me. When they've dropped the money on the counter, they expect me to take it quickly.
It makes me feel like a raven chasing after something shiny...
I think being a cashier anywhere that takes W.I.C. or food stamps brings out the worst in me and perhaps people in general. Not that I'm generalizing...that's devil's work.
